Account details you give us: your name, username, email and profile photo.

Learning activity: lessons you finish, answers, words you learn, your streak, study goals and reminders.

Content you create: your writing and voice recordings, when you use writing or speaking practice.

Device and app data: device type, app version, language settings and crash reports.

To run Lightsay, save your progress across devices and personalise your lessons and reviews.

To give AI feedback on your writing and speaking. Your text or audio is processed to create the feedback.

To send reminders and important account emails. You can turn reminders off in Profile.

AI writing and speaking feedback is processed by our AI providers only to create your feedback. We do not allow them to use your content to train their models.

We never sell your personal data.

We share data only with service providers that help us run Lightsay (hosting, email, payments through Apple, analytics), and only as much as they need.

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.

You can download a copy of your data or delete your account at any time in Profile › Edit profile › Manage account.

You can also ask us to correct your data or limit how we use it.

Lightsay is not for children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has created an account, we will delete it.

If we make important changes, we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
